After a wonderful start of 2022 viewing gray whales in March and April, we have begun our primary whale watching season at our Edmonds, Port Townsend, and (new for 2022!) Port Angeles locations.
Now that we have started our regular length tours we’ve been seeing a greater variety of species including orcas, minke whales, humpback whales, and gray whales.
Bigg’s killer whales have been everywhere lately it seems including the T137s, T123s, T36s, T65Bs, T75Bs, T34s, T37s, T101s, T124As, T124A2s, T63, T87, and T49A1. Wow, that’s a lot of orcas to watch in a short period of time! We’re also still seeing gray whales that haven’t left our area yet. In recent days we’ve seen crc 21, 22, 56, 531, 2362, 2356, 2259, and 2440. A few humpback whales are starting to show up and there has been a young humpback whale hanging out in Puget Sound too (bcy1218).
